To the new mayor of my former home town, The Honorable Michael J. Nutter.
Dear Sir,
My name is Patrick (Last Name Withheld for privacy reasons). I have reached 25 years of humanity (as much as some might say otherwise). I was born here, and raised here.
But sadly, I will not be staying here for too long.
You are a very intelligent man. A good wife, and beautiful children. Unfortunately, you and a very select are the lucky ones.
As for myself, its going to be very difficult to find women of class, who do not use color constraints (which, aptly put by DR Ron Paul, is a form of Communism/Socialism which therefore is godlessness) when finding a husband or such other “brother/sisterments” (aka, the dreaded same sex symbiosis).
I had as many as 13 jobs in nearly 8 years, and its time that I want stability in the job market. When people are desperate for jobs, such crime is not far away… People do want hope but as for me, it lies somewhere else.
It has nothing to do with you, it has everything to do with a past that is horrible, a present full of pathos, and future that seems non-existent.
Forget the crime rate, no place is safe. Safe from sin, safe from demonic forces over the web, safe from such and such entities that turn such normal human beings, like you, myself and many others in this city into full bore psychopaths.
Nobody except those I deal with on a monetary basis for grooming needs (i.e. cutting my hair) or my family, I truly respect. Even I don’t have the support of my family.
However, the big reasons are is the taxes, the lack of respect, the bad schools (and the corruption that is rampant), the insurance fees, the housing fees, the school fees (college) and so on.
Even though the places I am moving to (Boston, NY with a couple of trips to Chicago now and then) have higher taxes per gross, it is just compounded here. This system isn’t going to be fixed by fly by night promises of newer days and newer ways. I have a much better chance in South Carolina then I do in the city of Philadelphia, and that’s almost a crime.
The lack of respect is almost crazy. I keep myself in shape, don’t have problems with anybody or anyone…it’s like some alien world every time I walk out into the streets. It’s not even the ghettos that are bad enough; it’s from Northern Liberties onwards. I don’t feel community I feel lost and alone.
The schools I have gone to have not given me the education, nay the will to understand the world I live in. They have created whores, murders and sinners. The whole lot is just fighting for scraps in the city with one of the largest surpluses in the country. How is that possible you might ask when we have the one of the largest amount of universities and colleges in the nation?
All the art in Philadelphia, all the culture in Philadelphia, doesn’t mean crap if you cannot produce one world class animator, artist, or production studio. Most of them are in New York, some of them are in LA, more are heading to New England…and when 40% of the nation doesn’t even really give a damn about this city you have a lot of problems. At one time we were respected. Now its an eyesore compared to Pittsburgh or even the Pocono’s.
I cannot grow in a city that cannot get out of its ghetto mindset. I cannot grow when others start killing each other over the silliest of things. I cannot grow in a city where I see my past haunting me. All those friends of mine are living a life of having children, using a welfare system that should have been destroyed a long time ago. Maybe they go to these “lady of the night schools” like Gibbs and what have you and think they made it. Soldiers come home from a war and get treated like near third world citizens, where as the third world citizens are treated like gods and you don’t even know if they are loyal to this nation’s money or this nation itself. Even the media’s maidens don’t send there children in the schools of this city, don’t even live IN the city, and they call you the maker of change.
THERE ISNT GOING TO BE ANY SUCH CHANGES.
So I just want out. You might try and make this city like New York and try and make this city like Miami and try and make this city like Phoenix. But you’re never going to succeed.
The majority of the businesses in this country have called a put option on Philadelphia, and its only a matter of IF, not WHEN- you have the guts to stand up to the special interests who own this town lock stock and barrel. But I don’t think you do, and so the same thing will happen again, the law abiding whites and blacks will leave the city for better schools, leaving the undereducated to run roughshod over the town, closing the Archdiocese’s Schools and its students heading to your Public schools, where the sex is rampant, the crime issue in the schools hasn’t been solved and so on.
You know what is happening in the rest of the state? Yeah you guessed it, we are the black sheep. I don’t want to say too much more.
I am leaving this town, and the state. You might find a way to change to city, but im not staying to see the results.
Goodbye and Goodluck.
