A very special thanks to CreativeOne for allowing me to use the follow image as inspiration: http://shadowness.com/CreativeOne/eternal-life
I had some issues with this piece and I ALMOST threw it away -- but I decided to "run with it" and see if my happy accident couldn't work out in the end. Please let me know what you think!
(...and never, ever, ever will I "experiment" after four hours of inking again. LOL)

Thank you so much! I've been obsessed with his photography lately and I've collected an entire series worth. LOL The insanely ambitious piece I am working on right now is based on his piece "Mixed Company", featuring Autumn Leaves.
Sep 30th ReplyWhen he generously offered to let me use his photography as references, he had noooo idea I'd do a whole series based on them. *giggles*

I really love the colors in this one and the detailing on the ladybug is really amazing!

Thank you so much! I had a hard time trying to decide how I would include a ladybug -- but decided that with all the effort I was putting into the rose, I wanted the ladybug to be an "equal". I also think it was a nice view of her because the common view is just a bug on a petal. XD

You're right and now that you mention it, I also often notice ladybugs (or any other bug for that matter) are only on the petals or leaves in drawings/paintings.
