Just Breathe Inkwork

I wouldn't normally submit the linework to one of my paintings here, but I thought some of you might enjoy seeing what this piece looks like before the watercolours. I've been working on this piece for two days -- but I've had some breaks.

I should be uploading the completed version in the next day or so. I'd also like to note that while this is uncompleted, I'm extremely happy with the black and white version. I feel that even at this stage, the piece already has value.

      Thank you so much! I think that when you use a style of shading like pointillism, it's important to "show your work". (My math teachers would be proud. LOL) So much of my efforts are lost somewhat once it's painted -- yet those "lost" efforts weren't truly a waste because it changes everything.

      You should see the piece I am working on right now... I've already put in over twenty hours of stippling in a 5" x 7". Shading-wise, this upcoming piece will be my most ambitious in a long time. I'll be posting it before I paint it... The *entire* piece is stippled. Yesterday I worked on it from 10:30 am till 5 am TODAY. I took *two breaks* to eat something. I had a phone call, and worked through that. I let the OCD take over and then I *couldn't* stop. (Which is why I stopped at 5 am and then work up at 9:30 this morning anyway after dreaming about working on it.)

      if it's the one i saw on DA earlier i love it already! youre a hard working artists and it shows in your work :) i to forget to eat if it wasnt for my mom reminding me and sometimes feeding me..lol.. i would forget , i definitely thing it;s an artist thing we get to drawn in our work ;)

      LOL -- Yep, it's the newest piece on DA. Too bad buyers don't understand the work we put into things. Sometimes I want to just shake people and clobber 'em over the head with a watercolour block! The art faeries don't just come by and do the work for me! ARGH! Of course, I'm feeling soooo much satisfaction at a "job almost finished and hard part is over" right now. This is the kinda high everyone should get when they finish something. It's a good thing I finished the inking... I think the hubby was going hungry waiting for me. LOL!!!
