This is a book cover painted digitally. Keith and I wrote it together, and as a special FX artist, he helped me throughout the whole process of this image. And he's a guy so I would say he knows what sexy is.

The little toy she is holding is a prop from inside the story.
I usually start the concepts on thumbnails drawn on paper to decide where I want everything to go. Once we have decided that it is the way to go, then I start painting it on a very big file size in Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. I like Photoshop because I can make very big strokes quickly, while Painter I use mostly for the blending and the adjustments of lights and shadows that I want to make. Also I like it to make my transitions softer like on my charcoal works.
