Hero by Zhang Zimou is amazing. The photography and traditional style are captured so beautifully. They even separate the movie into 4 color sets. Breathtaking.
Jul 11th, 2007Ugh.. I've seen this thing like.... a bajillion times when I was working my family's hair salon because it played on repeat for the customers. The plot was horrible in Hero, even if it does manage to look good most of the time.
Soundtrack was nice though XD, I went out and bought a copy.
haha i have to watch that movie again. first and only time i rent it, my friends thought it was the weirdest movie ever and didn't get to see all of it.
Jul 11th, 2007AMELIE!
Cinematography was freakin amazing as well as the visual storytelling, and any CG effects were integrated quite well with the footage. The cyan, red, yellow and black colour scheme was absolutely beautiful throughout.
Zatoichi [2003]
Takeshi "Beat" Kitano wrote, starred and directed that movie. It wasn't much in terms of a plot, but it was highly entertaining. Well shot, and the fight scenes were tightly choreographed, and the dude managed to fit like 3 MUSICAL segments in between the action and the drama of the film. It actually worked O_O.
Ping Pong
A very energetic blend of visual storytelling and music to depict the protagonists' love of the sport. You'd be looking at the actors going "OMG THEY'RE GOOD AT THE GAME" when a subtle CG ping pong ball goes between them at the speed of light. Watching this always makes me feel motivated to get up and do something afterwards.
Amelie so rules, couldn't want more, and Yann Tiersen with the soundtracks, yes agree, so amazing.
Dune By David Lynch
A cloclwork orange and Kooyanisatsi, Howl's Moving Castle ♥ so artistic movies.
