Do you do a lot of sketchs and thumbnails, or do you pretty much know what you want in your head and just go for it? I tend to just go for broke.

Often times I do have a pretty clear idea before I start, although I do always produce at least a thumbnail or who before sketching, to make sure I'm understanding my poses and compositional balance.
