Martin commented on Golden Petals
I have to be honest, i've never really had much intrest for closeup pictures on flowers mainly due to the fact that they are all pretty much the same, what i would like to see is more unusual angles and perhaps have the background somehow more noticable (less blur).
First thing that striked me as a negative part would be the brightness, i would love to see more constrasts. More shadows vs brightness. The flower overall is a very nice looking flower, i especially like the middle area, really digging the colors there. However, it's rather hard to see the sharpness on the rest of the flower due to the brightness (again).
It is however very good that you stood in a angle of which had flowers behind the "main one" because that's always nice in the way it creates depth to the picture.
I don't know if this was so much of help but to draw a conclusion of what i like and dislike..
I dislike the brightness, it removes the crisp feeling too much, i'm not so into the total blurred background either, it would be nice with some connection with the flower. The angle, try doing some different angles and try to shy away from the usual "bird view" over it. What i do like is the flower general, it has great colors and when the crisp feeling shows, like in the middle, it's really good.
Dont get me wrong, its a good photo, i could see myself having it on the wall back home but there's always ways to improve stuff.
have a nice day
