Meng, I was wondering if there is a public forum here on Shadowness? I feel like the site could really use a good place for people to chat and hang out. Was thinking of posting a WIP and maybe future contests on here, but it's difficult to organize without a forum :/

We used to have a chat page but it wasn't active enough. We'll definitely have a chat in the future and get users to use it more. :)

No I meant more like a classic forum like over at cgartist. Doesn't have to be THAT big, but it really helps to get to know people and creates a community spirit if people can interact like that. :) The chat is so fleeting, not good for deep discussions, which is what makes people return to a site again and again and network and grow together. Nowadays this unfortunately feels more like a portfolio site instead of an art community.
Jan 20th ReplyYears ago there was that one site called gfxartist.com, I don't know if you've heard of it. It had a gallery section and a forum section and that worked really well. Even though the owners of the site stopped paying attention to it and it became flooded with spambots in the last few years, there was such a tight group of people there who interacted daily that they volunteered as moderators to keep the site going. There's even a gfxartist facebook page now after the site got shut down, since people were so sad to see it go.
Would be cool to have the forum option so we at shadowness could get a place to interact besides commenting on artworks :)
Anyways, just a suggestion! Keep up the good work!
