Feb 10thAfter 10 years of inactivity I recently started drawing again. I'm from South Africa and live in Cape Town. I studied Graphic Design but mostly apply that to doing marketing and design for the night-club my husband and myself own. After designing tattoos for us I realized how much I missed drawing and started working harder to improve. "Who has been your favorite teacher?" I don't think any of the professionals that were suppose to help mold my young mind had an effect on me. I can name several that were a negative influence. The person that taught me most about life and art is my mother. She is an artist in her own right and gave me a love for all forms of creativity. "How did you find Shadowness?" I'm a member of Deviant Art and was invited by May Fong. "What is your favorite non-art related activity?" I LOVE reading. I wish I had more hands and eyes to draw and read at the same time. I enjoy designing and making my own clothes...it's a goth thing.
May 11th, 2011I'm an italian self-taught traditional artist, I'm living near the splendid city of Venice. Since I was a child I was in love with arts, colour and evrything can give me something. I studied art in high school but I started to take seriously the design a few years ago, when for the first time I entered the world of illustration. All my pictures are made with colored pencils and graphite, my reasons for living. I really hope to be able to slowly improve myself more and more. I love the realism, but I try in every illustration to convey some of my emotions and feelings, so every person can be able to know the most hidden part of me and I hope to be able to do that. What I’m doing with my life ♥ I'm a graduate of LPN ( Licensed Practical Nurse ) , while I attempt to discover what I want to do with my life. I really love Art , i plan to enroll in Multi Media Design and improve my skills in graphics designing and Web Development. I’m really good at ♥ I don’t know how I feel about the statement “I’m really good at”. Such things are all relative in my opinion. However, I would say that I’m good at listening, gettin’ silly, making a dirty joke out of everything. Favorites ♥ ♥ Books. I am currently on a graphic novel kick. Documentaries (especially on outer space and the ocean), 2001: A Space Odyssey, American Beauty, Amelie, Avatar, Black Dynamite, The Cell, Contact, Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Garden State, Igby Goes Down, Inception, Into the Wild, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Office Space, Once, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, What the Bleep Do We Know?, Wristcutters: A Love Story. ♥ Music.My current favorites are Lana Del Ray, The Used, Trevor Hall, Iron and Wine, Adele, Bob Marley, Sleeping With Sirens, Tegan and Sara, and Bon Iver. ♥ Shows.I just recently acquired Netflix, which is slowly taking over my existence. Arrested Development, Doctor Who, Freaks and Geeks, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Sherlock, Torchwood, X-Files. ♥ Food.Pinoy food ofcourse but I’m up for trying anything! Feb 21stAbout the Artist Born in Cavite yet a pure Bulakenyo, Renz Marrione Bautsita is a personification of youth with a heart for art. Bautista is a Fine Arts major in Advertising student of Bulacan State University who has exemplified his skills in different fields. He has topped visual arts competitions like the 4th Cocolife Colors of Life Student Visual Arts Competition – Runner up (College category), 2011 National Student Art Competition (Art Petron) – Grand Prize (T-shirt design) and Semifinalist (Painting category), 43rd Shell National Students Art Competition (NSAC) – 5th honorable mention, 2010 Metrobank Art Design Excellence (MADE) – Semifinalist, and, a grandprize winner in the 1st Bulacan State University Painting Contest. Aside from his artistic excellence, Batista has contributed in BulSU’s official student publicaton, Pacesetter, as a member for 3 years and the Art Director for his last year. O'Hoski primary creates his work using Acrylic and Oil, but still finds favour in using Watercolour. To date, Christopher has exhibited in New York, Washington, Atlanta, Austin, Brooklyn, San Francisco and Toronto, while recently being published in International Contemporary Artists Volumes I, II and III out of Greece and New York .
