what camera do you have? i started with compact camera and i loved it
after it fell down from tripod i had to buy new and well.. better one 
macro is matter of my heart 
its something i really love very much :)

I have a Canon S3IS which was a great camera, especially for macro, until I accidentally got a small scratch right in the middle of my lens. Now it keeps focusing on the scratch instead of my subject...which is really frustrating! I also have a little Panasonic Lumix which, for an inexpensive camera, takes pretty good pics :)

ohhh thats bad ...lens is very sensitive and i can imagine how you must feel when you are trying to take pic and can not do it properly. at least you have another camera to use. taking pics is great relax
