Apr 9th, 2011Chanito is a graphic designer based in Panama city, Panama, He has been creating digital art for a diverse of clients in different companies. He has learned that it’s not how much you know about the softwares that counts, it’s what you do with that knowledge. As he tells people, “A designer learns more when they share their knowledge, because other people can improve and generate new ideas.”
Mar 30th, 2011Kalliope Amorphous is an artist whose primary body of work has evolved into an exploration of the conceptual self-portrait photograph as a catalyst for exploring ideas of identity, gender, archetype and myth. Her work ranges from interpretations of pre-existing iconography to compositions meant purely to provoke and challenge perceptions and first impressions. Kalliope on her work: “I am not a photographer or a narcissist. I am an artist with a camera. I want to push the boundaries of what I define as “self” and “other” by playing with ideas of identity, emotion and the various visual interpretations and possibilities that exist within them.” Self-taught in photography, Kalliope takes an intuitive approach to composition and lighting and works without the aid of professional lighting or studio equipment. Makeup, costuming, photography, and post processing are all self-created. Kalliope is a recipient of the 2010 Julia Margaret Cameron award for self-portraiture photography. She has exhibited and published her work throughout the United States and internationally.

Jun 21st, 2007Hi, not much to say about me, studying PhD in philosophy, PhD in history, Computer Engineer, Master degree in Fine Arts, militant Atheist, and currently working in the Pale Blue Dot atheist and philosophy project: 13 demons destroying and debunking religion and superstition.
Jul 8th, 2007I am 22 years old and live in Germany. Currently I'm a student but not at some kind of art-school (unfortunately). When I've got some time outside of university I paint pictures, especially digital ones with Photoshop. I'm doing this approx. for 1 year now. I know, I have still a lot to learn but, nevertheless, I hope you'll like my art.
Feb 19th, 2008I'm self-taught graphic designer and artist located in Belgium. I'm always eager for new opportunities that will allow me to evolve and improve my artistic and digital skills. My passion for pixel perfection and desire to create amazing digital works fuels me everyday until 5 AM.
Jun 8th, 2007[I apollogize for all non-hispanic people, but I need to express this in spanish] Qu es una imagen?

<img src="http://www.imap.com.mx/ec_try/YA.png" width="33" height="30" border="0" alt="Yahoo! Dec 25th, 2007Photography and Graphic Design are only hobbies of mine that I have always expressed interest in, but have only recently been able to start exploring.</fontsize> <fontsize="1">I use a variety of cameras for photography. These include both point-and-shoot cameras, SLRs, and D-SLRs. I do not modify any of my photos with Photoshop (except for tagging my name to them) unless they are in an album that specifically states so. Nothing against those who do, I just think it takes more skill and is more satisfying if a picture is unmodified by a third party program and is shown off in an "as taken" state.</fontsize> Cameras I currently own: Canon Powershot A520 (Point-&-Shoot) Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm (SLR) Canon EOS400D Rebel XTi (D-SLR) Digital rendering (as well as other work edited/compiled on the computer), which I am just starting to take seriously, I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 and CS3 for. Any questions, just ask. CURRENT PROJECTS I. Examples of Beginning Photography This is a project that involves step-by-step examples of what can be accomplished by those looking to explore the world of photography, but who currently posses no basic knowledge of photography (all frames will be captured using an inexpensive 35mm SLR). <fontsize="2">This project is meant to show what a beginning photographer could expect to be able to accomplish within approx. three months of learning, and starting without a basic understanding of photography. While only the frames developed will be posted on Shadowness, one would also be able to expect to have learned, during the course of the three months, film exposure, development, and printing, as well as some knowledge in technical, conceptual, and creative aspects (such as composition, technique, full-tonal range printing, and creating & controlling meaning within one's own images). The project's results should be on par with that of what a student registered in a beginning photography course could expect to accomplish.</fontsize> <fontsize="1">*Note: This is only an example of what one may be able to accomplish. Everyone learns at a different pace. This is merely a project showing what one could accomplish in their first three months if he or she was interested in learning photography but did not currently have any knowledge on the subject. Examples are based off of the guidance of a beginning photography course syllabus written by John Engelbrecht of The University of Iowa. All images for the project are captured by Brian Grayson.</fontsize> II. My -asofterworld- Series This project is my version of the ever popular "asofterworld" series. I will be adding new ones every now and then (preferably once a month until my first project is completed, then maybe more often than once a month) !Attention!: You may not use, modify, or replicate any of the images I upload to this site without expressed written consent from myself first.
