This photography is taken in Molde in Norway on a small beach at sunset. Used a tripod, remote, and a Cokin P-filter system with a ND8- and ND4-Grad filter. Used a aperture of f/22 to gain the 4sec shutter speed. I also try to use the rule of thirds when shooting landscapes, since it makes for a much nicer composition. After an hour of waiting for waves, the conditions were perfect, and I started shooting. After shooting about 15 shots, the waves began to splash everywhere and I was just able to shoot this photo, snatch my gear and make and run for it before a wave almost soaked it, but I think the effort shows =)
My thought's on the photo? Well, I wish the sun was a litle higher, so that it would create a glowing effect on the sides of the stones. By this time it had set behind the mountains. And all the sea grass behind the stones created a bit of mess when exposed for so long. What I'm most pleased with, is the cloudy effect I got on the foreground which was really nice.

Jun 30th, 2007Ljublius thanks! appreciate it! =) been really fascinated by that kind of photo's since I got into photographing myself. Digital Photography and Practical Photography feature photo's like this all the time, and was a great inspiration and information source =)
Jun 30th, 2007leiko this is an absolutely gorgeous shot. the colors and tone of it is so mystical. i wish i had the skills to produce something this beautiful. i've never seen "cloudy water." does the unphotographed thing look pretty much the same way? if so, i would love to go to Norway. the beaches here don't seem to have the same effect. too much sun >_
Jul 4th, 2007leiko after i heard what it took to produce this shot, it made me want to fave it, too!
