Keeper of the Skies

by Literaphobia in Digital Art

A Starcatcher, without a Laveo skull mask.
Starcatchers are mythical figures from the desert planet, Aniaito. Or rather, they turned mythical after the planet changed. Their fur, skin, and scales (scales are on the lower body) have a light refracting quality to them which allows them to be seemingly transparent in certain lighting conditions. During the dawn, Starcatchers gather in groups and ascend to the skies, plucking down the stars with their long, spindly fingers. At twilight, they re-release the stars, and play with them while watching over the planet.
I did this on a day I was stuck in school after missing the bus, on an oekaki board, with a mouse. I'm still surprised it came out as well as it did.
