My Gosh!!! After a lot of years, i made "Elric Of Melniboné" fan-art!!!
Sig, sob... I always wish to draw my favourite fantasy character!!!
I'm so proud of this work, also for another reason: is the first time that i drew on a big size!
It's supposed is ambient at Mu-Ooria. When i started this work i don't have this idea, but after i realized it, i like the concept and continue with it!
This location is on "The Dreamthief's Daughter". This is the first book i read about Elric of Melniboné. I immediately love this character, and i become mad for to search the first books of saga, lol (yes, i find they)!
On this work, Elric looks two persons over the underground. Ok, i don't spoiler nothing, so you don't hate me, ahahaha!
I'm so sorry for the lines on the picture... The artwork is too much big for my scanner... I go on typing-office because they've scanner for big paper, but... Ehm... They made a very bad work....
Only a nice thing, of course, the colors are really similar to original work...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... I wish to have a good digital camera, because i realized i love to draw on big format paper... And i think i need in future an A3 scanner, damn!
For Elric's clothes i use reference from the amazing Michael Whelan's art.... No reference for character and background!! *faint*

amazing work so detailed and BIG!! you did fantastic with it
i'm with you i need me an A3 scanner too in the future that's why i'm sticking to 9 x12, and wont go bigger than 11x14, such a drag putting together the artworks

Aahahaha.... Working on A3+ size is very great... I always dislike this genre of thing, but when i started this work on A4, i noticed i must need to draw on a big size... I'm very proud... But... yes, the real problem is an A3 scanner, ahhaha! XDDD
Jul 21st, 2011 ReplyUsually i scanner in double part and "copy-paste" my works (because i use Fabriano album, and they're a bit large than a simple A4), but for this work, i've some difficults to scanner, lol... (i go to typing office, but i hate how they scanner my work... to much lines... sigh)

Cool painting, Stefania! ^^ Ohhh, I wish I can do large format, too. I'm getting tired of squeezing all the detail in the 8.5 X 11" (about 21.6 x 28 cm) paper. XD I'd love to get a larger scanner (don't know where I can put it...). I'd rather scan than take photos since I'm not that good at taking photos (or have a really good camera for that matter).

Aahaha... An A3 scanner and a good camera.... There are a dream! XDDD
Jul 21st, 2011 ReplyI can understand... I saw big scanner only via ebay and internet shop, in truth.... But they're really expensive. so.... I wait the occasion!
Originally i started to draw Elric on a Fabriano A4 (ehm... a bit larger on A4, because i use Fabriano Album paper), but i recognized i must draw it on a bigger size.... So... I take courage and i make it....
Usually i've fear to drawing on big size, but.... I admit that some details are very great to draw on it... Damn... XDDDD
Thank you so much, dearest!!!

I used to work with much larger paper... and I remember how long it took me to fill it. XD lol
