Kalliope Amorphous is an artist whose primary body of work has evolved into an exploration of the conceptual self-portrait photograph as a catalyst for exploring ideas of identity, gender, archetype and myth. Her work ranges from interpretations of pre-existing iconography to compositions meant purely to provoke and challenge perceptions and first impressions. Kalliope on her work: “I am not a photographer or a narcissist. I am an artist with a camera. I want to push the boundaries of what I define as “self” and “other” by playing with ideas of identity, emotion and the various visual interpretations and possibilities that exist within them.” Self-taught in photography, Kalliope takes an intuitive approach to composition and lighting and works without the aid of professional lighting or studio equipment. Makeup, costuming, photography, and post processing are all self-created. Kalliope is a recipient of the 2010 Julia Margaret Cameron award for self-portraiture photography. She has exhibited and published her work throughout the United States and internationally.

I am 21 year old freelance illustrator and student from Portugal currently finnishing my Master's Degree on Graphic Design. Illustration has always been my passion and I want to develop my skills a lot. So, I'm open for any comment or critique. I work both digital and tradicional but so far I have only posted my digital works in here. Soon I'll had some tradicional works. Because he doesn�t live the present, neither the past, or the future, he is the shadow which follows the wind, the sound which accompanies the fantasies from the unreal. He looks for beauty in the darkness, for the passion in the inert, every sigh immerses him in a world where creation is life. Sometimes he felt like time slid through his fingers, and in every second the most dark ghosts would overcome him, he woke up from his litany with a creative spirit, and his sensations, his fears, disappeared at creation. Well, what is there to say about myself? First off I am horrible at writing about myself, but will give it a go! I started drawing when I could pick up a pencil, and really got into it about 2003. I stopped it soon after and then picked it back up in late 2004, became serious about my work in mid 2005 and have continued to improve from there. Right now I live just outside Atlanta, GA and plan to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in fall of '08 at their third campus here in Atlanta. <p> As far as my inspiration goes it can be a little weird sometimes, but I think every artist can admit to that. My main inspiration comes from my music, which is mainly industrial, ebm, tbm, metal and the like. <p> I am always open for commission work and sometimes even collaborations. I am also generally a very friendly person to talk too, so feel free to drop me a message or comment.

Passionate by manga and video games, I founded and ran for four years the Yume Dream collective, a pre-publishing magazine devoted to Quebec manga artists. I published in it the 'Ryshtahio', a fantasy serie that sums up today more than 160 pages and a few dozens of illustrations. Comics are my dream and my main purpose in life. Altough Yume Dream ended, I still have many projects in mind and many stories to tell... ---------- Passionn�e par les mangas, j'ai fond� et dirig� pendant quatre ans le collectif Yume Dream, magazine de pr�publication d�di� aux artistes manga qu�b�cois. J'y ai publi� la Ryshtahio, un manga de fantasy qui accumule aujourd'hui plus de160 pages de bande dessin�e et plusieurs dizaine d'illustrations diverses. Well I remain one of the most senior artists on Shadowness having been with the site pretty much since its birth, from starting out small to growing bigger everyday. I have met loads of fantastic people on here and continue to do so on a daily basis, if you wish to become a friend just add me its that simple :) I hail from the UK where its very wet at the moment but that doesn't change much, I'm 27 and a Senior Designer for a Web Design and Development firm in the Midlands.
