The New River Gorge Bridge is the world's third-longest steel arch bridge. Every autumn, crazy people from all over the world come to Bridge Day so they can base jump off the bridge. This is pretty much the iconic shot of West Virginia, a place I have visited many times in my life. This is also the image that appears on the back of the WV state coin.
It was a hot, humid late summer day, but the leaves were already starting to show signs of autumn's approach. I was glad for the little hints of color in the foliage. :)
