Ascending the Snow Lakes Trail towards the Enchantment Lakes Basin in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness was quite the experience. Not only was there so much to see, hear, and feel, but the scents were almost overpowering. It was my first time in a truly alpine area, and it did indeed have a distinct aroma, almost sickeningly sweet at points.

A crisp, cool, foggy morning was the perfect start to our journey. :]
