It’s a reference to several occasions in my life where I felt that there’s nothing but a dark, bottomless pit in front of me and the only way I could go is down. In fact, all it took was for me to let go. However, there are those who are there, waiting to pull me up from this dark place. I just needed to see the rope that is offered to me and hold on to it. Well, I’m still here, so I guess I did grab the rope :P. Mon, 26 Dec 2011 13:09:18 -0500 Rabbit Hunter Hunter
don't be mean to rabbits. I should do more of this style of art :D Fri, 13 Jan 2012 13:00:11 -0500 Blue Boy
Last month, I was browsing through my old laptop's hard drive and I found this one psd file. It's an unfinished painting from November of last year and I apparently totally forgot about it. I can't recall why I left it unfinished, but most likely it's because I had no time for it due to work commitments and then eventually it slipped from my mind. I don't think when I started this picture I had any grand goal, meaning nor story for it. I just wanted to play with certain colour combinations, which in this case are bright aqua and blue as ambience colours and how they affect skin tones. I used OpenCanvas to paint hair. I think OC works MUCH better than Photoshop in painting hair. I switched back and forth from OC to PS - OC for painting and PS for colour adjustment. Sun, 30 Dec 2012 12:12:00 -0500 Digital painting demo - luminous backlighting effect
Thanks to the Shadowness staff team for the recent feature and the members for the support! A few months ago, somebody asked me how I create the "lights and shine" in my paintings. I took it to mean the golden lighting and how I used it to illuminate the subjects in my paintings. So, I made a video demo to walk you through the way I create the intense, luminous backlighting effect. I'm a newbie at making videos so after a lot of struggling and frustration with Windows Movie Maker and after that, Adobe Premiere Pro, I finally did it! the link to the demo vid is here: Sat, 08 Dec 2012 13:47:56 -0500 Backlit
She's a character concept for a bigger piece of work that I'm planning to do in the near future. I'm also kinda playing with luminous backlighting thingie. Trains me to see things in totally different ways. In case if you're curious as to whose likeness I based her on, it's a mix of Tyra Banks and Eva Pigford. Wed, 06 Jun 2012 11:08:28 -0400
