I'm going to have to comment-spam you in the attempt to explain what I was trying to go for here, so you are forewarned... Basically I was trying to communicate the idea of something beautiful and almost holy that had sickened and died; like a once-god that was somehow stripped of everything that had hitherto been good and pure. So now all that remains is pestilence and poison. Hence the black and bleeding halo, hints of skeleton and grody-looking wings. And the title, of course.. 'Apotheosis' is deification; to become a god. So the title pretentiously tries to reflect the un-godly nature of being reduced to petty incarnation.
