I"m beginning to understand their posturing, and how they behave. In a way they remind me of the bowing and strutting of chickens or pheasants. Plus they fly up in the air, or jump, to show off, and show their fancy feathers. When they walk around sometimes they smooth down all those feathers, and at other times they strut with all their feathers erect and wings down. Somewhat like a turkey or Peacock when they are displaying. I never even knew this bird existed a week and 1/2 ago, and I'm enjoying painting, learning, and researching more about them. I think I like this one and The Incredible Ruff best. But I still have more, I've drawn up, and started to paint. Eventually I am going to paint a scene with a number of males, and just one disinterested female walking among them. I am so wicked to torture those poor birds in a painting!
