When I tackle a topic, I don’t think I’m done until I’ve found the simplest way to look at it. I think of simplicity as a process. You can’t always start there, but you can find it or create more of it as you go. I also think of simplicity as a by-product. It happens when I find the elegant path or the simple truth. Sometimes I see simplicity as a means to an end — where the end is a simpler understanding or a simpler result or a simpler way to share. I see the world in frames, as long as I can remember I have taken snap shots of everything I see. Photography to me is very important; it is how we can document the events of our lives. Things are always changing. I biggest obstacle is making sure my camera is always ready. One of my photography teachers told me to take a picture a day. I think this is very good advice and something I feel is important for me. It is a form of therapy, relaxation and peace. Today with the modern world of digital it is so easy to snap away without taking the time we once had to. With digital photography you see your images right away. I think that it is easy to forget to take that extra time to get the photograph you really want because you can take so many.

A passionate photographer, I have played in this space for nearly 20 years. My first encounter was the Photography club at high school, it was more of a social encounter rather than a pursuit of photography. As life evolved and different activities attracted my attention photography was always in the background but not a priority. My passion took a turn when my first child was born and a desire to capture her growing in the best possible format. This endeavour rekindled and enlightened the right side of the brain and as you will see in my gallery, the results of this adventure. It’s only the beginning as I strive to learn by experimenting with light and the tools at hand. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
