The elephant is HDR processed from own photos in Photomatix Pro 4 and postprocessing with few dozen layers done in CS5.

      Because elefants should walk across green grass of the savannah and if there is not so much, because of the dry season, they should have hope to find somewhere water. But here it looks like he would never find water anyway.

      My story? None to be honest...I just thought that that desert background complements the portrait of that elephant well with it's simplicity...:)
