Yeah, Mr Aidan Turner again :B I'll omit the part where I'm explaining why I like him and it's not only because of his good looks.
It's my first serious coloured pencil portrait! :D The first attempt at drawing human face in coloured pencils took place 2 years ago and the reference photo wasn't really complicated so I don't consider it a proper coloured pencil portrait. But this one... this one was tricky! Aidan has beautiful facial features and I didn't want to screw his likeness up - I fixed his eyes, nose and mouth several times. I'm not fond of drawing curly hair, so these friggin' curls put my patience to the test :lol: The background was drawn from my imagination. I decided not to copy the background from the reference photo, but I didn't want to leave it white either. So eventually I came up with something bokeh-ish :B
I hope all this was worth my effort! I mean, it turned out different than I'd envisioned, but I'm proud of myself :)
A4, Derwent Coloursoft, Derwent Artists and Koh-I-Noor Polycolor coloured pencils, a white gel pen, a regular eraser, Derwent blender, Mars Staedtler Lumograph 8B, 55 hours.
