Thank you! I wanted his gaze to be fixed and distant to infinity. Wolves have that look sometimes...as though they are remembering a different life.

Thank you...I just wish I knew who the photographer is so I could credit him or her. I think I found this photo on Wicipedia or somewhere...I've searched but can't find where I found it. It was probably found when I was searching for some other creature totally unrelated to birds. I need a keeper!

It would be nice if they could live free, and thrive. It seems the world should be big enough for wolves, tigers, elephants, rhinos, and all the other marvelous creatures large and small that are being driven to extinction. I keep painting them, but sometimes I feel hopeless, and think perhaps I should just move on to something more commercial, or graphic, or just different. Trouble is I've loved painting animals since I was a child, and feel they are the most amazing and miraculous creatures on this planet.
