Very nice! I love tigers, but somehow I don't find it easy to draw one realistic, even with references..

Thank you Jurgen, I keep spending more time perfecting the details, but also working longer on the underpainting so the fur or feathers look more dimensional.

Thank you, and thank you for your kind words. I paint every day, and all these paintings are stacking up. I now have about 35 of these Amate Bark papers paintings stacked by my computer. The rest of the paintings are hanging on my walls, stacked against walls, or piled in portfolios.
This gallery is overwhelming my house.

Powerful, more than a little grumpy and maybe even a bit hungry. :) Wonderful expression of the essence of tiger.

A happy tiger could be a fat, complacent Tiger...this ones a lean, mean, fighting, biting, machine. All muscle and mad!

Thank you, I spent extra time trying to get him just right. There are still little details I want to adjust. Have brush will paint...and fix. I'm still thinking about it.

Wonderful work!! The coat looks so thick and soft, I'd just love to grab it...but with such a fierce expression I guess that would be just a little bit silly

This tiger was moved to the St. Louis Zoo and Red Beard took many pictures of him. He was uncomfortable, mad, and uneasy every time they put him out in the large space. Now he's more happy, but for months he went around with this really angry expression. Tigers don't like new habitats.
Plus I think he would bite you if you even attempted to pet him. He acted sometimes like he thought the photographer would make a very tasty snack!
I'm glad you like the painting! Even with his mad expression he is a very impressive tiger!
