I use a little white and black in some of the colors, but it's kind of amazing how bright and pure watercolor can become on this Amate Bark Paper. Plus I just sketch the image in with a watered down pigment and then build the painting from the sketch. In a way it's like painting on a toned canvas with oils. It's a very relaxing method of painting in watercolor on this paper and very forgiving. However, you don't actually use a great deal of water. The paper warps if you get it too saturated. Thank you for your comment! s
Thank you for the explanation--it never ceases to amaze me what different artists can create with the same media! I do love the earthy tones of this piece, and the depth is outstanding! Sounds like you paint like I draw...in many, many layers! I will have to try out that paper for my cp works!!
Your art is very inspirational to all of us artists and at Shadowness we like to thank our amazing artists for all they do, to show our appreciation for you, your artwork has been featured in todays Daily Inspiration #696
