Tis lovely to watch them soar along the cliffs of Whiteside. During nesting season the rock climbing routes are all closed and you can watch them hunt from above them, scouting and diving into the forest far below in their incredible quest for prey.

I've never seen them in the wild, but I imagine they are quite beautiful. I always look at hawks along the Freeways, and we always have nesting Red Tails here by our home. They help keep the snake population down! The Telephone pole at the bottom of our property is their preferred dining room table!

Thank you! I worked hard on those feathers, and I learned on this bird I can paint the details on the feathers then paint a wash over them. This bark paper is a little strange to paint on, but it is actually pretty strong. It's very absorbent, and the paint goes on darker and dries lighter so I've added Ultramarine Blue and Allizarin Crimson to the black, and mauve to the grays and browns. It's all a learning process, and is different for each paper and each animal I paint. I like this painting a great deal too! s

Thank you! I started it last night, and finished it this morning. I got new Bark Paper yesterday in the mail, so I cut it in half and started painting. I wish I had a gallery to mat, frame, and hang my art work in. It's just leaning against walls, filling up portfollios, and gathering dust. I've got to get some of it out of the house before I get buried by it. The sad truth is I'd rather make the art than market and sell it! But I will just keep painting, making myself happy in the process, and enjoying what I'm able to do! Everyone should keep out of trouble somehow! I'm being good, and at least getting art work finished!

I do love painting birds, and I had more of this paper delivered to my door yesterday. Six of the sheets are the golden paper! Now I'm paper rich! It's nice to get joy from the simple, small events in life. My paper makes me happy, and so do my paints! I am a very simple artist, and so easily satisfied!
