Mt Laguna Snow blizzard

by HouseofChabrier in Snow Scenes Watercolor and Oil

16" X 20" on Canvas Board Painted from a photograph I took while my son drove the car, and I kept hopping out every few feet to take pictures in the snow. Loved it! A very fond memory!

Oh gosh! I adore snow. No matter how bad it gets where I live, there is always something fond about it in my mind. You have reached a memory from my side with this piece. I adore it, and instantly added it when I saw it. Great stuff. Wonderful piece. .

I love to paint it, photograph it, play in it, and then go have a great dinner and a piece of hot homemade apple pie in nearby Julien. Snow fun here is always followed by a trip into Julien for their marvelous apple pie! what a day that makes!!!

Oh gosh! You sound like me and my family! We love the opening season and when the first snow comes, we go out and slide down snowy slopes, and the get some spiced cider and hot cocoa the hot apple pie is something we used to get until the great place we found closed. :( Awesome seasonal fun.

I also love to make candles this time of year. Spicy ones and cinnamon.

I've never made candles...but I use cinnamon and spices to make hot cider, apple pie, and cookies. The winter is a lovely time for cooking and baking.

Oh they are so much fun to make. I'll bet you would like to do it. Baking this time of year and forward is something I really look forward to. Those are my favourite spices in the world.

Maybe you could take some scenic pictures, and I could paint from them. I love to paint landscapes, and it's going to be a long cold winter.

Possibly, quite possibly. Though only a view camera can really capture the scenes, but I will see what I can do. Nicholas wants me to take him up with a couple of models to shoot at the ice walls this winter and possibly some icy waterfall sessions.

My photos are good, but not as wonderful as yours. As long as there is a composition, and trees and snow I can paint it. I miss my good camera. I only use a little pocket camera to take all my photos. Thank God I have it!!! s

Nods, If it had not been for QVC I would still be using my Minolta, which I love but film is so expensive these days.
