Thank you I was fortunate enough to photograph these birds. They were pets of a friend, so I could see them up close. I love the beauty of birds.

I did these small studies, because the designs were originally made for etched glass, then I adapted them for these paintings. Then I realized I didn't know how to paint magnolia blossoms, for I'd never done it before. I went and photographed magnolia blossoms everywhere. I have a 3" binder filled just with Magnolia Tree Blossoms photos. Then I started painting until I felt I got it right! Thank you, and I appreciate all your favs and comments. You make my day!

Oh wow! I love the storybook feel of this, sort of reminds me of Frida Kahlo ♥ I love the bold way you paint feathers and plants.

Thank you so much! I love Frida Kahlo, especially her plants, birds and monkeys. That said...I also loved how she painted her sorrow and pain in her more personal work.
