Roosters do strut, and the hens actually are pretty smart when they don't want to have anything to do with them. They dive into the nearest bush and hide. Chicks are good at hiding too when they live outside of a chicken coop. Animals are really not supposed to be caged up, and the chickens learn very quickly what is dangerous. I've got a wild kingdom around here!

It's actually difficult painting wild colors around a Rooster! I'm trying to make everything look natural and growing, but define the rooster with the flowers. Plus, I paint the rooster first, and then the flowers, and then finishing touches take me back to the Rooster and then back to the flowers. I'm glad you like it!

oh that sounds really like difficult work and when i look at it now i can see the details and how everything matches nicely together. and rooster stands out which is great! this is really very beautiful painting!
