its great to see on both white and bark paper so can compare
both are great but the bark paper makes a wonderful natural pre-made backgrund!

I can get more even, blended washes on the watercolor paper, and more even, precise strokes. I can get more texture and I have more of a feeling of painting with oils when I paint on the Amate Bark Paper. Both are paper, and my human reaction is totally subjective, but I paint differently on the different surfaces. I follow watercolor "rules" I learned in school and over the years on the white paper, and I just experiment and paint on the Bark Paper. Probably because there is just the paper, and I never painted on it until late last year. Life is funny!
