11" X 14" Graphite Pencil Rendering on Toned Canson Scrapbook paper with white and some color on top. Drawn from a photo taken by Ellmaus on Deviant Art with her permission. To see more of her wonderful photographs go to: http://ellmaus.deviantart.com/ This one has only basic pencil sketch underneath, and then full color watercolor with a little white added for the entire rendering. I'm experimenting with painting on the toned paper.

I just now almost finished another secretary bird done this method. Very little pencil except for the initial sketch, and then watercolor applied very sparingly to the Canson toned paper. Shadowness is good for me because I get real feedback, and it makes me want to paint more.
