Yakedake is an active volcano located in the Kamikochi National Park.
I had borrowed a pair of snowshoes to go for a stomp in the snow, away from the crowds, and figured this would be the right place to do it. I was right! There were only a handful of hikers and a few campers in the park.
Nothing beats the crunch of fresh snow!
