Jul 1st Reply who wants a hug?HillbillyDeluxe
Thanks! It was a great Sunday!
Jul 1st Reply C'mon Pookie...I would love to go to Sweden....and not just because it's the home of Ikea!
Lucifer
hahahaha :D i have some things from IKEA at home :D yes Norway, Sweden, Finland....beautiful and diverse nature. i would love to live in log cabin there in a wild nature. just spend few nice days there...watching sunrise with siipping my coffee and in the evening amazing sunset with little bit wine :D and of course many trips and enjoying nature and taking pics!
Jul 1st Reply who wants a hug?HillbillyDeluxe
Yup...me too! Can't argue with Ikea! Generally good design and affordable!
Yup...cabin by a lake, wake up to pancakes (I'm still very Canadian) with Lingonberry jam and some coffee. A shopping trip to Ikea, a hike through the forest with my camera and to finish the day, that evening some meatballs and mashed potatoes! And a couple of bottles of good German beer...Sweden does lots of things right but no one beats Germany for it's beer!...Belgium comes in a close second!
Jul 1st Reply C'mon Pookie...Lucifer
we have great beer too! :D czech is beer is one of the best :p you should taste czech beer some day to compare :D ...a shopping trip to ikea ...hahahahahaha to buy some things for camp fire and flashlight to scare wild night animals snaking around you XD
Jul 1st Reply who wants a hug?Lucifer
*czech's beer
Jul 1st Reply who wants a hug?HillbillyDeluxe
I would buy a ton of candles and potpourri to scare away the animals!
Jul 1st Reply C'mon Pookie...Pilsner Urquell and Budweiser Budvar are two of my favorite beers! I'm sure there are even more waiting for me there!
Lucifer
candies? and how do you want to scare animals with candies? throw it at them? XD you made me smile because i thought there are big differences between man and woman when they are in wild nature. i would never expect that some man will say he will go shopping or buy ton of candies :D hahaha its cute :D
Jul 1st Reply who wants a hug?HillbillyDeluxe
Candies, candles and potpourri! Those animals will be terrified!
Jul 1st Reply C'mon Pookie...Lucifer
:D if you say so i will believe you :D i should try it to find out if its working XD

I will assume you have been here...it is considered one of the top destinations in Deutsche, right?
Jun 29th Reply C'mon Pookie...Ah...but wait...you're from Köln...is there are rivalry between Köln and Bavaria?
Thank you for the fav too!
JurgenDoe
In Köln we don't talk about the Bavarians much ... they really think they are a country in a country
Jun 29th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I've heard that before....my Schwabian friends didn't much of me going over to Bavaria either...
Jun 30th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
they was right .. never cross the border from schawabian to bavaria
Jul 5th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
Jul 6th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
This is an insult to the Schwabians
Jul 6th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I'm sure it was, yet Neuschwanstein was on my list of things that I really wanted to see...so they didn't mind too much....I think!
Jul 6th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
Well I hope they didn't and Schloss Neuschwanstein is always a very good trip
Jul 7th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
They didn't. They had Spaetzle and Sanwald waiting for me when I got back. If they were angry, they would have given me a cheeseburger from McD and a Bud light...ewww.
Jul 8th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
Well they thought more you need to have good food after crossing the border because in Bavaria you can't eat right .. so Spätzle und Sanwald was something very good to keep you going
Jul 9th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
haha...it's true...I never ate anything in Bavaria...just a hamburger from a highway rest area.
Jul 9th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
a hamburger on a autobahn restaurant
Jul 10th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
yup...I think I got a Whopper from Burger King! BK isn't too popular here in my area so it was nice to have one. Wouldn't want to eat it all the time though...
Jul 10th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
can you believe that people live on this food every day
Jul 12th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I know...what's the obesity rate in the US now? 50%?
Jul 12th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
I bet is much much more ... they don't know how to cook .. so they live on junk food
Jul 14th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I've heard some rumors that he government could help by limiting the amount of sugar in food, especially the high fructose corn syrup.
Jul 14th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
here is everything with corn syrup and the government allows this ... they just want to make people sick so they have to go to the pharmacy to get some drugs and this is where they make lots of money
Jul 15th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I don't disagree. AND the corn farmers get a lot of money from the gov't to produce the corn too, I heard. It's a vicious cycle they are stuck in.
Jul 15th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
You need to watch the documentary "Food Matters" ... many ppl should or better all and they would stop buying in Supermarkets and and and ... especially here in the US
Jul 15th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
Thanks Sensei...I will try to find that here.
Jul 17th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
You'll be shocked after watching it
Jul 17th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I was disgusted just by watching "Super-size Me". I still occasionally eat at fast food restaurants but not with the same frequency as before. I'm really trying to cut them out all together. But as I mentioned to /EarthHart in a separate thread, it's hard to do. My schedule often leaves me with little time to prepare food and I just grab something on the go.
Jul 17th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
You will never see me in any fast food stores .. I don't call them restaurant as well ... this is disgusting and should be forbidden
Jul 18th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
At least NYC is taking a few steps in the right direction by limiting soda sizes and banning trans fats. People cry that it is the gov't interfering too much but I think they should do more. Obviously people are having a hard time controlling their dietary habits and need all the help they can get.
Jul 18th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
People should start cooking for them-self instead of going to fast food places ... the only help they need is to control their habits ... places like McDonald or Burger King or KFC wouldn't exist in the first place if people stay at home and cook ... the sad truth is that over 90 % of Americans don't know how to cook at all :(
Jul 19th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I believe that! But I also know it's hard to change people's habits. Occasionally, as a break from cooking, eating out at a restaurant is a nice distraction. BUT eating everyday at the fast food places is going to kill them all!
Jul 19th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
agree with that .. sometimes we need a break from home cooking but Americans don't cook at home at all .. they just go out every day and eating this cheap pizza's and any other junk .. they are truly the #1 nation of fat and unhealthy people even if you have them in every country
Jul 19th Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
That's what I have heard too...and Canada is not too far behind them! It's getting worse here too. Portion sizes have been increasing and "Mega" is a key word in some restaurants now.
Jul 20th Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
Yeah they won't to keep their customers happy but mega portions makes it easier to share one plate and that's what they don't think about at all
Jul 21st Reply SubscriberHillbillyDeluxe
I found the portion sizes in France, Belgium and Germany to be just right. Yet when I went back to Canada I often felt ill after eating out because of the amount of food I ate. :P
Jul 23rd Reply C'mon Pookie...JurgenDoe
It's because they don't go with quality ... they only think of quantity
