I used to go to this place with my mother when i was 5 years old, and all the colors were still new. I was glad to see it was still there on a recent trip to the town where i was born with my own family. :)

thats fantastic, one of those things most people would walk past without even noticing it

Thanks, Darren. Its in a sort of alley/parking lot behind a sort of five and dime store....not many people go there now...and the town itself is only about 5000 people...i'm sure they hardly notice.

Those old signs were painted with stuff that could withstand the test of time. Beautiful shot, Joseph!!!!

Thank you, I would imagine it was lead based or something...rural america has good paint. hee.
Jun 28th, 2011 ReplyTimePortalStudi
Lead based paint is very durable. Also, back then, they used petroleum based products in the paint, which also adds to the durability.

Interesting...I shot a 7up sign that was similar yesterday...thats something to research.
