When I took this shot I didn't realize the bird was there - after I downloaded the shots I noticed it and I thought it gave this photo a whole new feeling. It's one of my personal faves, I hope you like it too!

I just wanted to add that initially the frame works, then on second glance it becomes distracting... I think that as long as the image is framed (on a wall) with a large white space around it, the frame will cease to be distracting (to me, at least). I also think that large white space might help to draw attention to the bird.

I agree with you - the only reason I used one here is because if I hadn't - the bird would be right agains the edge of the shot - by putting the border on I was able to bring it away from the edge a little bit so that it wasn't almost cut off.

This is so beautiful. There is a real peace to it.

Thank you! I'm glad you think it's peaceful. There are some people who find it creepy because it's in a cemetery - but I've always found them to be incredibly peaceful.

Beautiful shot - expertly processed as is usual for you! :) I really like what you have done with the frame for this one too...
Apr 13th, 2011 ReplyHandie
Do you really like the frame? This is an older one for me and I used to put frames on all my stuff and then people kept telling me that it was better without it, so I stopped using them.
Apr 14th, 2011 Reply"expertly processed" - wow - that's quite a compliment from a photographer like you. Thank you. ♥

I do like the frame! I'm not a fan of frames on everything, but for some reason I like them on black and whites - or at least, some black & whites... :)

Thanks Tim. I don't mind them on some things - but there have been some of my stuff where I look back at it now and think "why did I put that there??" LOL!
