Jan 6thI'm 24 from Australia, I love to retexture for RPG's and have started making my own portraits via photomanipulation. Well that's a lie, I started since Neverwinter Nights 1 began, but I've just started getting good now.
Jan 4thFDZN | Designer and Illustrator Based in the midwest area of the US, Tom Walsh has been exploring the ways that graphic design can be put to use in both an enjoyable form of escape, as well as in producing a practical space for design. He is currently working on fulfilling a bachelor's degree of fine arts with an emphasis of graphic design while simply enjoying the time he has to create various forms of art and connecting with other creative personalities. Going under the Identity of FDZN, he aspires to create a change of thought and perception with the design and art world, while continuing learning more about the various crafts. Jul 27th, 2011Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.
