Yeah man. My work is crap, yet people love it. :) I completely started from literally nothing, aside from a few years drawing the simpsons back in grade school. I've pretty much done it all. I'm not the best at one thing, rather I'm alright at everything. :) If you are a photographer, take tons of photos! Then load up some editing software and make something dramatic. Simply adjusting the curves can make or break a photo.
