From the other side of the High Street, I could hear this woman going on about the price of coffee. She could even be heard over the cars going by, so I decided to shoot her.

She must have been really upset about that coffee!

She was talking about the price of Starbuck's coffee, not the one she's drinking. Thankfully, Starbuck's are leaving Wells

Thank goodness for small miracles! I wish the sheeple here would cut back on the Starbucks too but it's still very trendy here.
Sep 22nd Reply C'mon Pookie...Full disclosure: I used to be a Starbuck's sheeple too but in recent years, can't justify spending that much just for a cup of daily coffee. Now and again, I'll have a cup of joe there but it's not my go-to coffee shop anymore.
I'd rather spend that money on finding a good cheddar!
and you're welcome.

Chatting with one of the local journos today, he said that Fartbucks is having financial problems in a number of towns & cities in the UK

I believe that was their strategy to begin with. Super saturate the market, find out what areas perform and then reduce to a manageable and profitable level. Too bad really because it doesn't make it easy for the mom and pop shops to make a go of it. However when Starbucks does leave it will free up some retail space for a smaller independent merchant to open up shop...hopefully.
