The photo really doesn't do this painting justice - I was happy with how well it turned out.

It was commissioned by a good friend. He had a family of bobcats that denned up under his porch over the winter, and this is the Tom. All bobcats have different markings, so it was important that the painting not only look like a bobcat - it needed to look like This bobcat.

What does "Paha Sapa Igmu' Hota" means?
We have no bobcats here and no snow either but I love paintings of wildcats and winter scene. You're right, even zebras have different stripes and no two are the same.

  That is an Indian word or phrase meaning "big cat". The bobcats all have different spots and color patterns. This one had more orange in his hip area and back legs and was more gray up by the front
