another buffalo photo per request from HouseofChabrier :). I love how they push the snow with their faces to get down to the grass.

Magnificent looking animal, it is very clever the way they swing theior heads around to clear the snow.

Fabulous shot and truly a grand creature. They were the salvation of the Sioux Nations and always sacred to the People.

What a beautiful shot .. if you think that we almost didn't had anyone left of them . it's beautiful to see such shots.

I love the buffalo, especially in the winter when their coats are so thick and dark against the snow

They are just beautiful animals and yes the dark fur stands out so well.

I love these massive beasts, and they are beautiful against snow! A wonderful portrait of a living legend!

Thanks :). They really are quite impressive. Other than winter, my favorite time to see them is when the males are in rut at the end of August. There are herds of thousands in Lamar Valley in Yellowstone and the males will be snorting and bellowing - telling each other how big and tuff they are. You can stand outside in the valley and listen to the sound echoing all up and down the valley. It is almost a spiritual thing.
