She's suffered too long, beyond her breaking point. It's time to give up and put an end to the pain once and for all.
This is a redux of an artwork I made in February of 2009 during a very deep depression. I've always meant to give it new life (no pun intended) but wanted to wait until I was in the right mood for it. Given recent events, I'm feeling down enough to get the feeling of this artwork done right.
In case you can't tell, the character is writing a suicide note... thus the "giving up" title. I wanted the scene to be dimly lit like it's happening at night with only a single light or two turned on. I did this because it always seems to be night when I seriously contemplate such things.
