Every professor at the great wizard schools have various helpers, a few familiars and some are lucky or skilled enough in their chosen work to have a personal muse. In this case a forest sylph, which knows all the whisperings and languages of the trees, shrubs and plants of the dark forest. And has very good connections amongst the many dryads, hammadryads, woodwives, gnomes, bark sprites, naiads and those faery that attend the Oaken King.
