Concept:
After participating at a comic-like contest and having tried to achieve some experiences in comics I finally decided to create some more comics of my own. Own linework and style, not trying to cover anything (though that's helpful to learn things).
I still like naturalism and therefor my artworks een in comicstyle will remain naturalistic somehow. It's a mixture of my usual style and some stylized linework. The funny thing is, that I got to know that it is only a thin line between comic and naturalistic paintings: just erase the linework, increase texture and there you will go.
The idea is simple: I picked one of many ideas out of my sketch book. Those which I don't want to create in a somewhat photorealistical manner I will paint as comics. And a hot woman in winter ... just MELTING ...
A sing-along music song for this: 'Red Army Choir - Kalinka'.
Nice to know:
It's not quiet clear what really happend, but they assume that a meteor caused an explosion in Siberia, Tunguska at the beginning of the 20th century. The explosion must have been similar to an explosion of a fission-fusion-bomb. There are many theories around which also might inspire you to some funny and gorgeous artworks.
Technics:
First of all my graphite sketch, I prefer the traditional media, it's more vivid.
I scan it to use this as a reference within Photoshop (or imagine every other similar program you want to use).
If needed I tweak the sketch a bit (Photoshop's liquify-filter) and I paint all the parts of this sketch as my digital linework with a calligraphic brushtip (lines are more vivid, not only onesize) on additional layers.
Below each linework-layer I put a one-coloured fill layer (like skin, clothing and so on).
I lock these layers and begin to paint on them (like brushing by using airbrush).
A little bit of texture I also use in my comics.
Afterwards some colourtuning layers on top ... et voilĂ !
