Apr 8thHobbyist artist. I don't really push my music or art, as such, I just love creating and producing in my own idiosyncratic way.
Mar 13thBorn 1958, studied fine and commercial art in late 1970's, worked for a while as graphic artist, but then left for 20 years as a programmer. In 2004 went out on my own as a digital painter. Bio: Attended art programs at Rowan State University, Glassboro, NJ (two years) and duCret School of the Arts, Plainfield, NJ (two years). Also attended workshops with Sueellen Ross (mixed media) and Barbara Benedetti Newton (colored pencil). Worked primarily in watercolor and colored pencil until discovering Corel Painter and digital painting in 2004. Work 100% in Photoshop and Painter now. Gallery representation: Seaside Art Gallery, Nags Head, NC, since 1996. Have exhibited with John Pence Gallery, San Francisco, CA. Won national awards, including Colored Pencil Society of America Cippy Award; two times finalist in Artist Magazine annual art competition (one of 250 out of over 10,000 entries). Various other juried exhibitions. Work featured in International Artist and American Artist magazines. Self-published book: "Getting Started with Painter", available on Amazon. Mar 26thjust cause sound doodles are faster than drawn doodles, i spend my time slaping a baboon's exposed glute with a lute while playing an ivory flute. "hoot", "toot", murmurs it's clogged poop shoot. spewing it's love aboot. all it's overflowing cahoots falling into THESE boots to step.
Mar 26thThe more I paint and the more I discover that I have to learn. Each painting is a new beginning, a battle, a questioning ART is a long journey, with byways and breaks. Some people lose themselves along the road, some go straight ahead, some go back. But at the end we always realise that it's a neverending road. What can we say about my art? Unexpected? Bizarre? Intense? Disturbing? Certainly! I don't know if it is possible to describe my art. I would say that it is a mixture of several movements: surrealism, expressionism, impressionism etc. ^^ (if you have an idea I'd be curious to know how you would describe it) It is evolving like me. I can not say that there is an artist who really inspired me, it's true that I love Miro, Paul Klee, Dali and surrealism but I feel closer for now of Francis Bacon. My universe is made of a lot of imagination, contradictions, quirks, fun and mischief and a little of cynicism ^^ What prompts me to create is the emotions I feel, the things that make me giggle, that revolt me or that exasperate me, in short it's feeling that makes me feel alive! 6 years ago I never imagined that I would be painting a day! Life is mysterious and sometimes surprising. I switched from the computer to traditional painting through photography and all that because of small animated signatures on a forun hehe. I can only thank the teacher's workshop drawing because he pushed me to do oil paintings. I was terrified at the beginning because it was only 6 months that I was drawing and it was an unknown world for me but I fell in love very quickly! Now I prefer much more traditional painting compared to digital. Painting is so much more sensual! The smells, touch, freedom of movement I absolutely love it. :D I'll always have a place for digitalart and photography.
Mar 5thWell, when I was 3 years old, I went on a long journey to find myself. I traveled the world, and by the time I returned home I found out allot of different information. All of this information made me a viable source to the government, so I was with them until I turned the age 18, at age 18 I dropped all of these important things to go to school, and graphic design on the side. I have been doing this for two years now, and I am still pretty terrible :). I am in the artgroups, Intrinsic Nature(found at Intrinsicnature.org) and Heartsurge(Heartsurge.net). Oh yea and I am Amanda, remember that.
