They're quite durable for jewelry. Probably don't want to chew on them tho. I've dropped them on tile and they will break if they have a lot of protrusions (dots, petals, etc) but it's rare. This is soft glass (soda glass) and is different than borosilicate, which is considered *hard*. Boro is used for lab ware, bongs, coffee pots. Both shatter if dropped. Some people make rings with glass and have no issues. There's tons of art out there with this type of glass...one of my fav sculptural artists is here: http://www.wesleyfleming.com/ He uses the same glass I do...
