I've only used fixitives on mine but I don't see why a clear varnish wouldn't work.
Jun 30th, 2011also, you could try clear acrylic glazing as a lightweight glass alternative. I don't know about sourcing it in your locality, but you can find it on pictureframes.com
Jul 3rd, 2011Get a good coat of fixative on it when you're done and make sure you're using a nice absorbent paper. That does pretty well even if you have to roll the piece for delivery. If all else fails, you can use fixative, let it sit and cure for a couple of days, then if you really want to varnish you can get a spray varnish and do a super light coat.
Jul 3rd, 2011vholecek, I've never tried acrylic glazing before but we have here Golden Acrylic Polymer Varnish and also Golden MSA Varnish, do I have to use fixative first before I apply the acrylic varnish?
Jul 3rd, 2011tspeecestudios, will all types of varnish work for CP? there oil and acrylic varnishes, which one would be the best to use?

Someone asked me if I can make a 3ft. x 4 ft. CP drawing. Framing it with glass will be too heavy. Has anyone used varnish to coat their CP works? What other methods you've tried?
