Very nice piece! It has a great deal of depth; at first glance, it appears the angel is the subject but then one notices the figure he has been called to protect and that is the "aha" moment that draws the viewer in! The desire for a protective power to call upon when we need it most is a very human thing; and this piece, by your use of color, suggests that perhaps this power resides in us, sleeping, waiting for the right moment to spring to our aid. That is what speaks to me about this amazing composition :)
