I love the challenge of interpreting images... My version is that this jewel is showing her something and she needs to figure out what it is, where it will take her. She is on a quest for something and the jewel is her guide. It might change colors depending on the situation, and it is also possible that - in certain circumstances - it will defend her from danger

Ok I'll give it a go. Hmm. It's your version of little bo peep perhaps and she's just found her sheep in the most alarming of encounters with wild animals, and after running away in fear to safety all the feelings are catching up and she is a whirlwind of forlorn lonely lost and so forth.
