Thep Kinnaree

A contemporary Buddhist fantasy art. Kinnaree (also spelled Kinnari) is a half-human half-bird creature that is seen in many Buddhist paintings throughout Asia. Kinnaree is also a creature found in Thai mythology. Mine is based on many golden statues found in Thailand in general style, with addition of lotus blossoms and stylized clouds as these are commonly found in Buddhist iconography (as in Tibetan thangka).
